Eligibility and RSVP


The next Adelphi commencements will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017.

Our Saturday morning and afternoon ceremonies will recognize associate, bachelor's, and master's degree graduates who completed their degree requirements in summer 2017, along with candidates who have applied to receive their degrees in fall 2017.

Remember: Receiving your diploma is known as graduation at UMUC. You must apply to graduate before you are eligible to walk at Adelphi Winter Commencement 2017. Please check with your academic advisor about the graduation process to ensure that you don't miss the application deadline, if you haven't already done so. This graduation to-do list is also helpful.

After applying, you can check your graduation status by visiting the View My Graduation Status page found under the My Academics link in your MyUMUC portal. Eligible students (defined above) will be invited to RSVP for commencement using our online registration system. Registration will open in October. Watch for an e-mail from the Commencement Services office.

When you RSVP, you will be able to

  • Let us know if you'll participate in commencement
  • Select a ceremony
  • Tell us about any special needs you or your guests may have

After you RSVP, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail with important information, including details on how to purchase the required cap and gown for the ceremony and claim e-tickets for your guests.

Each ceremony can accommodate 600 graduates. If both of our winter ceremonies fill to capacity, you will be allowed (and encouraged) to attend one of the May 2018 ceremonies in Adelphi. The RSVP process will explain how.
